Ontario DCXV 639 Tries to Scare a Cyclist on University Avenue

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at around 5:40pm, a black or dark blue Honda carrying Ontario plate DCXV 639 was driving on University Avenue northbound, south of Wellesley, when the driver accelerated and pulled into the lane a cyclist was riding in with less than a metre of clearance — then gunned it at the light and swung back to the left lane he came from. He had more room in his own lane than in the cyclist’s; the only reason to cut in like that was to threaten somebody, and that is a breach of sections 148(6.1) and (6.2) of the Highway Traffic Act plus dangerous driving. This is the street-level result of Doug Ford and the Ontario Conservatives passing Bill 212: $47 million of bike lanes ripped out, cyclists dumped into traffic, and drivers and cops who think the PC government now excuses hitting them. #BikeLaneBlockedBy
